Requiem for a Dream

A tear rolled down her cheek, as she covered her son. He had cried himself to sleep. She tried to explain rationally, hugged him lovingly and then rebuked him sternly.
He remained adamant.
She understood his pain.
She had to move on. And leave the pain of betrayal behind.
Being a single mother is tough.

  1. Another post on relationships. Remember, sometime ago I advised you to write a full length story about relationships? It’s hight time you do that!

  2. Shilpa, I am not a fan of 55-ers..but I love reading yours as they have some meaning behind them..so many other writers write for the sake of it..they should learn how to write it from you..tc 🙂

  3. I’m with Pawan..Pls write a long long post on the same.

This was well-written. You’ve mastered the art of 55 fiction writing! 🙂 Always a hidden msg and a strong motive.

  4. Nice one shilpa…but wanted to know something about this story, does the pic show that the kid was just poisoned by the mother, because being a single mother is tough?….

  5. That was a powerful one. I thought it was about a mother having to admonish a child to sleep, but the ‘move on’ and the broken bottle have me puzzled. I want to ask a question, but you will go for a picnic if I do 🙂
