A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose!

Things are as they are, not as they should be!

Food for the Soul

cooltext1108140704My whole world had fallen apart. And here I was standing all alone and staring at it blankly… totally incapacitated by the feeling of rejection and loneliness.

Was there anything that could lift the weight of this grief which was weighing so heavily on my soul… something that could lessen the pain?

And then something happened. The cloud of loneliness suddenly lifted.

My sick and weary heart found some solace.

I don’t know whether it was the verse or the melody or was it both?

My soul basked in the warmth again.

It was when I heard that song again.

    1. Yes, the best is when the music (lyrics too) matches with your mood or gives perfect words to your mood! Thank you, Sheethal 🙂

    1. Well said, Jairam! As they say, music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent! 🙂

    1. True and what makes it all the powerful when it is a reflection of your thoughts, your feelings! Thank you Nischala 🙂

  1. Whenever, I also feel lost or struck, I start playing all the tracks on shuffle. Hoping that some music may penetrate the darkness to a door near by. 🙂

    1. Agree with that. And it is so overwhelming when some songs mirror your emotions and you feel that they were written only for you!!

  2. Music definitely heals and the type of music that we hear also depends largely on our mood. For me, music is like a balm and there were times when I have cried listening to the lyrics(and I did not mean it in a bad way)

    1. I know what you mean, Prasanna. Have experienced this, there are times when you get this feeling that a song was written specially for you and it resonates so well with your state of mind!

  3. When I read the first two lines, I thought it would be a sad and a morose drabble but music uplifted the mood. The title of ‘Drabble Queen’is rightly yours , dear Shilpa. keep it up.

    1. Thanks Kalpana… glad you enjoyed reading this Drabble. 🙂
You are kind… I guess, there are miles to go, these are very juvenile attempts! 🙂

  4. Oh music has gotten me through literally the worst times of my life.. I can’t even begin to explain its influence really… theres a song for every emotion we feel, isnt there?

    1. I read about musical journey, Kathy and it is so cool that music has been an integral part of your life!! 🙂 ♥
