A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose!

Things are as they are, not as they should be!

True Beauty

The magazines showing women with stunning figures and flawless skin, visually assaulted me. These women instead of inspiring, made me go into pits of self-doubt.

As I was wallowing in self-pity, I saw her teach dance to some kids.

I looked at her from afar. Despite her physical flaws and imperfections, there was something mesmerizing about her.

As I gawked at her, I realized that behind those bright eyes and dazzling smile, it was her inner light that shone so bright.

Without a word she taught me an important lesson on why she looked most beautiful.

Beauty comes from within.

    1. Because most people don’t realize the beauty of the inner beauty and run after superficial exterior! 🙂

  1. And yet cosmetic ads feature heavily photoshopped models! my husband is in the ad film industry, and when I saw with my own eyes, the extent to which these images are altered, I felt physically sick. True beauty is the one which we see around us. Great post, Shilpa!

    1. Agree with you. Recently read a piece on the net on real vs photo-shopped images of the models in advertisements. It is shocking and imagine, so many people aspire to be like such models. Thanks Gauri 🙂

    1. That’s true, everything we need for being truly beautiful is already there inside us!! Thanks Kajal 🙂

    1. Well said, Kathy. Somebody rightly said, outer beauty pleases the EYE. Inner beauty captivates the HEART!! ♥

  2. Wow Shilpa, love it.True beauty is the inner beauty, glad there are people who can see that. An absolutely heartwarming and uplifting post.

  3. Hi Shilpa

Nice post! You are very true, beauty comes from the inner self confidence and goodness. I know many people who are such fine specimens, enough to make many heads turn but they really are perverted and loathsome beings from inside. Sadly, most people go for appearance only.

    1. Oh yes, there are many like that!! If only, we’d learn to appreciate the inner beauty than the flawless skin and perfect figures!

    1. Agree with you, completely! Somebody said it so beautifully, people are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
