A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose!

Gearing Up for May

A to Z Challenge is coming to an end, but the challenge is far from over. Yes, the very tough alphabets X, Y and Z are looming large over my head!!

Hopefully, I will be able to manage some stories for X, Y and Z.

Needless to say, that April has been very hectic and active for my old grey cells. I am planning to give them a break and allow them to relax and rejuvenate with some interesting reading, this May.

What? You think that would entail work Β and no play for the grey cells? Well, I think, they are destined to stay alert and active, always. And am sure they will enjoy to explore the interesting and varied worlds created by different authors.

So, I am all set to read a lot this May and last week, I ordered 4 books from Flipkart.

Bridget Jones Diary and To Kill a Mockingbird, I bought based on the recommendation of ObsessiveMom Tulika who’s been sharing about works and lives of some very prolific and fabulous authors from A to Z, this April.

We need to talk about KevinThe Diary of a Young Girl

We Need to Talk About Kevin has been on my wish list for a long time and when last month, Psych Babbler wrote about meeting the author where she shared some insights about this book, I immediately pushed this book higher on my wish list. And thus this book was ordered too.

I had read The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, when I was in college. And somehow, I wanted to re-read it again!

Also, I have a lot of review books to read as well. So May looks all exciting and fun.

What are your plans for May?

  1. Oh rest and relaxation top my list for May. Also travel plans in the works. Then the last week is set for back to school prep πŸ™‚

But will miss blogging for sure. I might pop in for an occasional post. Already scheduled the post for May 1st πŸ˜‰

  2. Shilpa! It’s been taxing and my worry is Z and hope I do justice. I am looking for the much needed 10 to 15 days break post the challenge. I may just post few poems in between if the writing bugs hit.

  3. I feel good right now and would like to try and stay “in the zone” as it were by collating all of my educational-themed posts and seeing how they flow altogether in a book format. I will, also, have report cards to write in school soon. Finally, I will be helping my 82 year old mother move into a nursing home for June 1st. That will be the big event for May. All in all, the A-to-Z Challenge has been a great experience. πŸ™‚

  4. Since I pre-wrote all of my A to Z postings, April was busy, but not nerve-wracking so I have lots of energy to devote to May’s project: re-hauling my book, and deciding once and for all if it’s worthy of publication.

Also, I have been introduced to some interesting books through other A to Z’ers like Truman by David McCullough and the Susan Grafton series.

    Fondly,
    Elizabeth

  5. Shilpa,

Nice to know that you are an avid reader. I love to read books, however presently my stamina is not what it was few years ago. Recently I have read some new authors and am impressed. If you wish I will let you know the names of books. My id is in my profile.

    Take care

  6. yep! rest and relax.. but don’t stay away for too long! you will be missed.
I’ve read the first 2 and liked them.. the next 2 seem interesting

  7. I am waiting to read the diary of a young girl. This is prescribed by NCERT for class X this year. I am yet to buy it for my son and I too am excited to read this.

For me MAY will be vacation time, home away from home and mostly will be on a digital detox.

  8. Superb choice of reading, Shilpa! All four books are wonderful and – don’t be surprised to find yourself going back and reading them again. I hope you will share your thoughts about these books! β™₯
