A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose!

Things are as they are, not as they should be!

Quietness #AtoZChallenge @AprilA2Z

My theme for this yearโ€™s Blogging from A to Z April Challenge is Cultivating Happiness. Today, Q is for Quietness.

Q

55 Fiction

Away from the concrete jungle, away from the clamour of cars and the noise…

I listen to the lapping sounds as the water meets the bank.

The soft breeze, the curious creaks and hums mingles with the rustling grass.

In this quietness, a few tears line my eyes as I talk to your memory again!

A Word to the Wise

It is only alone, truly alone that one bursts apart, springs forth.

When the distractions of daily life deplete our energy, the first thing we eliminate is the thing we need the most: quiet, reflective time. Time to dream, time to contemplate what’s working and what’s not, so that we can make changes for the better. Just like the physical body needs breaks from time to time, the mind needs breaks as well. Quiet the mind and just be.

    1. Well said, Pooja! Our soul truly basks in quietude. Enjoyed reading your take on the same too!

  1. A few minutes of peace drives my soul, recharges my mind and body and leaves me energised! So badly needed for all of us in today’s hectic pace of things. Good post, Shilpa!

    1. True, given the lifestyle we have, peace and quiet is something we need so badly to relax and rejuvenate ourselves!

  2. I try to catch it. If I have a lot to do in work and at home – I walk to work because it’s slower and then this is my time. Time away from work, time away from home. Quiet time.

I know I am lucky because I have got just 30 minutes to walk to get to work, but one could leave the bus earlier, park the car a bit off, … and then walk and calm down and have a quiet “me-time”.

    1. I like your practice… it’s killing two birds with one stone… exercise as well as quality Me Time too! Very impressive, Claudia!

  3. You have worded the essence of quiet time in nature so perfectly! There are places that I wander and words don’t seem enough to describe the awe and beauty I feel. Thank you for sharing!

    1. True, we can experience the calm and peace amidst the beauty of nature. Glad you liked this piece! And good to see you here!

    1. Quiet time is perfect time to reflect and thus a nice way to vent feelings and emotions. Thanks Parul!

  4. I hear myself think when I sit admiring my plants in my terrace garden. It is the most precious time of the day for me. Loved your post, very moving.

    1. It’s the same for me too… and I am realizing that with growing years, I am yearning for it more and find so much bliss in that my ‘me’ time!

  5. Very simple yet profound Shilpa. You find many answers in the quietness of your mind. Surprisingly, my topic was also Quiet for this A-Z ๐Ÿ™‚

    Loved reading your flash fictions.

    1. True, when the inner noise and the outer clutter ceases to exist, we are able to think and reflect better. Thanks Samra. Glad you are liking it here and good to see you here!

  6. You are so right. LIfe becomes so messy, sometimes, tha we don’t even realised that the easiest way to solve thing might be the one we overlook: taking soem time for ourselves. Allow ourselve to think thigns out.
    Thanks for reminding us ๐Ÿ™‚
