A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose!

Things are as they are, not as they should be!

“When will you learn that a bed is not the place to keep a wet towel.”

“Can you stop blaming me for everything?”

They rode on waves of pot-shots and barbs and floated it away but a new wave returned soon after.

With welled up eyes she remembers all those things that don’t happen anymore!

A Word to the Wise

Sometimes you will never know the value of something, until it becomes a memory.

Live a purposeful life. Seek meaning in what you are doing.  Not only value your life but value the life of everyone around- loved ones and strangers. Valuing others makes our self-value soar.

  1. True. For some reason, that scares me. I know it’s inevitable that such value be reminisced, be it a lover or a relative. But I hope that I do get to tell people how valued they are before they leave for a better place.

    1. I know what you mean and feel the same way exactly and believe me it is a scary thought! So it is so important to value, love and cherish the people in your life!

  2. So true this is. One realizes the folly of pettiness and harsh words or deeds only when it is too late. Learning to value small pleasures and ignoring trivial faults is really important.

    1. Hmmm… true and that’s because we take things for granted and assume that whenever we need something, it will be there.

  3. Value, hmm. Isn’t that the case with everyone and everything we have in our lives?
We never understand the magic of having both earphones working till one of them conks off. We never appreciate the work that our maids do for us, till they go on an unexpected holiday. We never pay attention to the love that people give us, until it goes away. πŸ™‚
    Liked this post, Shilpa!

    1. People say you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. Truth is, you knew what you had, you just never thought you’d lose it. The examples you shared are so apt. There are many things we fail to realize the true value of until they are missing from our lives. So, it is important that we enjoy the little things in life because someday you will realize they were the big things. Thanks Mithila, glad you liked this post πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Raj! True, that is why it is said, ‘appreciate what you have before it becomes what you had.’

  4. Memories are by definition valuable .. it would be great if they were happy ones which would have added value. Thanks Shilpa, lovely Seuss quote πŸ™‚

    1. Aah! I feel for you! Wish we appreciate and cherish our relationships more so that we do not have any regrets later on!

  5. Wonderful post! Whenever I complain about my husband leaving his dirty laundry on the floor, I have to tell myself that this is one of those things that I would miss if he wasn’t here…then it doesn’t seem as bad πŸ™‚
My theme this year is: Happiness is… Seems like we have sister themes!

    1. Love your attitude, Katie. That’s how it should be.
Your short and sweet posts on happiness are inspiring. Thanks for sharing and good to meet you through this challenge πŸ™‚

  6. Agree with you in this post completely πŸ™‚ I always believe that we must create memories worth recalling and reliving… always appreciate the persons when they alive…. nothing like telling the person how much they mean.

    1. Agree with you completely. We must appreciate all the things we have in life because we never know when that time will end. Clear the clutter inside our mind and realize what we have right now.

  7. loved it….so profound….the rate at which you are churning out gyaan…you could be the new age guru, shilpa! Excellent play of words, simple yet profound.
