A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose!

If We Were Having Coffee…16th September

If we were having coffee

If we were having coffee, I’d thank you for seeing me. Yes, I would say that even before we exchanged the pleasantries. That’s because I am desperate to chat with you and share all that’s happening on this part of the earth.

Ok, before I get into all that excitement or rather lack of it, let me not forget my manners. So, how have you been! Hope September is treating you well.

As for me, well, I am tired. Ah! This tiredness is not because of hectic pace of life, which will always be the case and I am not complaining about it. I am tired of my internet. Yes, this thing that is now our lifeline. Pathetic does not even describe it. As I write this, the Google Chrome browser wheel is spinning and it’s been doing that since the past 10 minutes. Don’t believe me, see the number of attempts it has taken to download the above image from Pixabay.

The TWO datacards that I use for internet are just painfully sluggish. Though the mobile data works fine, but blogging from phone is something that I don’t enjoy. So, whatever window of blogging time I got in a day, I used it to read. Yeah, no point in pulling my already thinning hair. Ah! Enough of ranting about this never-ending woe.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I have been watching a lot of videos of Indian Stand-up comedians. Zakir Khan, Kenny Sebastian, Jeeveshu Ahluwalia, Amit Tandon, Varun Thakur, Vipul Goyal, Aditi Mittal, Aakash Gupta, Jaspreet Singh, Sorabh Pant are pretty funny and good in their acts. And there are a lot more who are equally witty and laugh riots. I like the funny observations these guys make from our daily life. It’s something that we all can relate to. Have you watched any of these guys? If not, you MUST!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that Diwali is around the corner and I am in maid mode and busy sorting, discarding, cleaning everything in sight. Despite numerous instructions from KG to take it easy and do this ‘spring cleaning’ in a spaced out manner. But no marks for guessing that I am doing more than I should be doing only to get totally tired and drained at the end of the day. SIGH! When will I learn and when will I let go of my OCD for cleaning!!

If we were having coffee, I’d thank you for having coffee with me and ask you if we could meet next week, again?

If we were having coffee, I’d take your leave and wish you a relaxing and interesting weekend and a great week ahead. Take care and see you!!

I had been seeing ‘How I met your mother’ since last month. Don’t be surprised if I say I had never watched it before. Yeah! :/ I’m into the last season and I am super excited to find who the girl is! 🙂

  2. Nice having coffee with you and hearing your updates. It’s hard when internet is slow, isn’t it? Especially as we rely on it so much these days. Hope you have a good weekend and your week ahead is good too!

  3. you too, Brutus? I too have 2 data cards which are average at best. And yes, even after all these years, I am still not at all comfortable posting via mobile… you would think they would have made it easier by now (at least on my blogspot, it still remains a chore)

  4. Ah sympathise with the internet connection; I think its the story with everyone these days and I hear the JIO dongle is a boon for wi-fi (havent tried it yet).
I am not much into stand up comedy shows – I have found them to be a it over rated; perhaps I will check out some of them from your list 😉
As for that dreaded spring cleaning; happy to say mine got done when I moved homes this year 🙂 All the best with your Shilpa and hope we catch up over coffee soonest! 😛

    1. Guess what… I HAVE JIO!! 🙄
I know what you mean, I dont like the likes of Kapil Sharma and others on TV. But these new guys are simply hilarious. Do check them out.
Lucky you. Finally my Diwali cleaning is done… with just a few small things here and there but major work is done. What a relief this is!!

  5. Diwali is in the corner.. What already… I didn’t even plan anything.
Coincidentally my internet has been giving me problems for the past two days… Ohh how much I hate it when that happens.
I love Kenny… He is hilarious and his take on the mundane things is fun to listen

    1. Yes, Diwali is on 19th Oct. You still have time.
Ah. Internet problems can suck the life out of you. I simply hate it.
Yes, Kenny is cool. I like Zakir too!

  6. ha ha! the video was hilarious. Made me giggle. Life has been good, Shilpa. You know I don’t like cleaning so I rush home for Diwali. Heading home this year again 🙂 The Dusshera weekend is a long one too. Festive times have begun and all this makes me happy 🙂

    1. Lucky you!! Getting to go home and no cleaning too. 😀
I have to read your Laddakh travelogue. Will catch up real soon!

    1. Yes, arent they fun and hilarious. I have become sort of addicted to them. In fact have seen nearly all of them, as I scroll the videos on the phone, they all have a stamp of ‘watched’ on it 😛
Yes, would love to have coffee with you and chat about books and of course these comic shows! 🙂

  7. Hey, your post reminds me I have to begin operation Clean-Up soon! And, as much as hubby insists i ask my domestic help to assist me, I do it all by myself! And then complain of backache!
It’s been a long time since we had coffee, isn’t it, Shilpa? And, discovered the varied similarities between us! 😛

  8. The maid mode stayed with me Shilpa! Lol! Totally get the frenzy of festive cleaning! I love Kenny Sebastian and a few of the others I recognize from what my kids watch. Great stress busters these videos are.

    1. Thank God, the maid mode is now off and I should get into blogging mode.
Oh yes, these new generation of comedians are simply cool and fun!

  9. If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I subscribed to an Indian newspaper (so as to try to expand my world view) and discovered the Hibaddi Pro League. Delightful post. Cheers

      1. Wow! That’s so interesting and so cool, Michael. Would love to read your novel. Yes, Kabaddi is coming up in a big way in India these days with international players joining the Pro League teams.
Good luck with your novel and thanks for dropping by!
