Trees of Faith -Thursday Tree Love #5

โ€œThere’s a reason we refer to “leaps of faith” – because the decision to consent to any notion of divinity is a mighty jump from the rational over to the unknowable, and I don’t care how diligently scholars of every religion will try to sit you down with their stacks of books and prove to you through scripture that their faith is indeed rational; it isn’t.
If faith were rational, it wouldn’t be – by definition – faith.
Faith is belief in what you cannot see or prove or touch.
Faith is walking face-first and full-speed into the dark.
If we truly knew all the answers in advance as to the meaning of life and the nature of God and the destiny of our souls, our belief would not be a leap of faith and it would not be a courageous act of humanity; it would just be… a prudent insurance policy.โ€

  1. So true, shilpa, faith is belief in something that we cannot see; its what we believe from within, thats how we see miracles happening.. the tree which is posted is very symbolic of simple people’s faith in the divine and it definitely works for them because they believe… This tree looks so nice and colourful and its a reflection of a deep faith in God.

  2. Yes faith does not seem rational at all. As long as others faith does not force me to do something against my will, I am fine with it. Loved the picture of the tree and the quote.

  3. Faith is something that lets you stand back up when life knocks you down mercilessly. Faith is the belief that there is something beyond the tall mountains of despair that you face – it is the belief that “this too shall pass.” Yes, it may be unreasonable, but it exists and because it exists, it makes life easier. ๐Ÿ™‚
