It is never enough. Whatever I do never impresses him. I know he is hurting inside.

Mother’s untimely death and his own physical disability has devastated him.

Sometimes, I want to get my old life back and stop feeling responsible for my father all the time.

I want those carefree days back and stop worrying about the bills to be paid with my small job at the shop.

But then I realize that I cannot change the circumstances or the wind, but I can change the way I think.

I am responsible for my future and it will be bright!

    1. To me this picture shows positivity… he is stepping out from darkness to light with a bag of books… hence this closing! 🙂

  1. I am responsible for my future and it will be bright! Amen! positive thinking. We cannot change some things but we can definitely change our thinking.

    1. True, it is tough! But then if you don’t change your life, your life will change you! Am glad too that the boy worked towards changing his life!

    1. Yes, must have realized that once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results! Thanks Bhavya 🙂

    1. Yes, that’s the power of positive thinking. Glad that he was able to take that step unlike so many others who get crushed under the burden of responsibilities at a young age. Thanks Rekha 🙂

    1. Well said, cribbing about the past wouldn’t change anything, taking charge and moving forward is the key! Thanks Sheethal 🙂

  2. I like your style of writing and the positivity that reflects in these posts. Keep going! Maybe you can also select a longer prompt sometime and challenge your writing skills further. Just saying 🙂

  3. It was a positive end, I really like it. There is so much of negativity all around these days that all I look for is something positive.. 🙂 Others have commented already about the positiveness of your story, but I had to say it too. 🙂

    1. Thank you Shilpa. They say that it makes a big difference in your life when you stay positive!! So, we should be positive always.

    1. Oh yes, happens to us all the time, when we crib about the struggles and then change the way we think to make things work!

  4. A very positive attitude: for it is true what we think only can actually shape our lives. Even if sometimes our mind plays tricks with us, and puts negative thoughts in us, if we are smart, we can soon change our thought patterns and think positive, and then only positive things would somehow make their way into our lives.

  5. I love how despite all odds his outlook remains positive and bright. He believes things will get better and he will survive. He believes this too shall pass and he will emerge triumphant. Simply love that. Such amazing faith makes life worth living.
