I decided to take up this Creative Writing Challenge shared by Tulika, originally created by Tolentino Teaching. It instantly piqued my interest, nudging me to don my creative hat and rekindle my love for writing flash fiction. The structured challenge, with its specific sentence rules, made the process even more exciting. So, here’s my attempt at writing a thrilling short story within the given constraints.
Below is the image of the Creative Writing Challenge prompt with all the guidelines—give it a try if you’re up for a creative challenge!
Here’s a story following the given prompt…

It is simply wonderful to read your blogs again–all three from “If I were having coffee—” to the “Shadow’s Whisper”.
Had avidly read your earlier blogs, and felt famished by their absence for so long!
So delighted to have the chance to read them again.
Do write as often as you can, the words flow naturally from your pen (or the keyboard rather), the reader feels drawn to them as in a dream.
Waiting impatiently for the next piece with much admiration and great anticipation.
Ah, just the kind of challenge you love and do so well, Shilpa!
Glad to see you taking up the challenge. It’s so ‘you’. I have been stalking this account ever since I first saw it and enjoying the ideas they come up with.
Wow! That was gripping!
Such a joy to read your stories again. Wonderful take on the challenge.
Wow! This was crafted so well, Shilpa. I love reading your fictional stories. 🙂
Creative writing in a structured form is really interesting. Though imagination and creativity cannot be bound, a good structure is important to give your writing a proper flow.
What a thrilling line up of story ideas. I am totally off thrillers but I am sure you come up with something incredible as you always do.
This flash fiction piece is captivating! The structured challenge adds depth to the storytelling, and the suspenseful narrative keeps readers hooked. A brilliant example of creativity within constraints!
I really enjoyed this spine-chilling flash fiction! The atmosphere you created with each sentence built the suspense so well—I felt like I was right there, holding my breath. The imagery was hauntingly beautiful, especially the line about fear being a locked door. I admire how you used the prompt so creatively. This reminded me why I love short fiction—what a gripping, vivid piece in just ten lines!
I think I should also try this challenge. Because I have been facing the worst writers block ever
This was intriguing and at each level piqued the curiosity. Loved your take on the challenge.
