A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose!

Things are as they are, not as they should be!

If Only You Were Here

The room had a look of being ransacked, with clothes strewn all over and newspapers filling in the gaps. Still, the cheque book was elusive.

I looked around with frustration but all I could see was dust that had settled everywhere.

Tired and defeated, I sat while our 3 year old marriage flashed in front of my eyes. I realise now, how I quashed all your efforts to nurture and strengthen our relationship. I now understand….

If only you were here now with me…

Something was turning into ashes, somewhere… my arrogance, my idiosyncrasies and a toast among other things.

  1. So true what you have written shilpa. Many marriages char because of the arrogance , ego etc of the couple:(

As i am reading this, i wish my two friends P and V who broke their marriage for a frivolous reason read your post too. I wish they realize their mistake and get back atleast for their twins sake. They were such a lovely and beautiful couple.

    1. So sorry about your friends. Yes, sometimes, couples separate over such trivial issues and the poor kids suffer the most! 🙁
Hope things work out for P and V!

  2. It is a sad picture, in most cases it is the ego that acts as a big hurdle.
Two people cannot be the same, there should always be a give and take policy between couples to make a relationship work. Only few matured couples understand this, others are out searching for the elusive perfect person.

    1. Agree, Rama. As somebody said, a relationship is a two way street, not a highway and a bike path. If you really want to be with someone you have to be willing to make some sacrifices and work at it a little, otherwise the relationship will never work!

    1. True… it is better to lose your ego to the one you love than to lose the one you love because of ego! Thanks Harshita 🙂

    1. Oh yeah, dont value the murgi and then live with regrets for the things that you didnt do! Thanks LP, nothing when compared to you! 🙂

  3. Beautifully written post and the describe made the whole setting alive. I emphatize with the emotions of the character, sitting with tears and sadness in her eyes. Lil’ do we realize what she must be going through. It’s sad yet so beautifully written. Thumbs up, Shilpa.

  4. Relationships burn and char due to negative factors like ego , arrogance etc. and take charge before it turns to ashes. well-said in 100 words.
