A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose!

Things are as they are, not as they should be!

On My Mind Now

I saw this prompt from Blogadda and thought of writing a blog post around it!

  • On my mind now is the time travel that I undertook this afternoon. I wanted to check a picture which I had uploaded on an old blog post! And guess what, one thing led to another, and I ended up reading so many of my old posts! It bought back so many memories which were accompanied with smiles. I am still thinking about the nearly forgotten snippets of life that I have been sharing on my blog since the last 5 years! I am so glad that I started writing on my blog and that I am recording the journey of our life and times. Thank you M for inspiring and pushing too!
  • On my mind now is the anger and the frustration over rapes in our country! When will this sort of depravity vanish from our society? When will the mind-set of men in our country change? Truly sickened and disgusted by the state of affairs.
  • On my mind now is my new house-help! After working for 5 days at a stretch, she goes missing for 3 consecutive days. This is her third week at work and she has already taken 6 leaves. The weekend is just around the corner and we are expecting some guests at home, I am truly dreading her vanishing act! Her creative reasons for taking leaves are simply amazing. The only reason I don’t feel like finding a replacement for her is that she does the work efficiently. But in my heart, I know that I may have to let go of her if she continues on her leaves taking spree.
  • On my mind is the book that I have to read and review. The initial pages are unable to hold my interest. Will try again, tonight!
  • On my mind is the dinner which should have been warmed and served, some thirty minutes ago!

What’s on your mind now?

    1. Can you believe it, I spent the entire afternoon, reading all my personal posts! 😀 Time flies when we are reading old posts and I love that warm happy feeling that these posts bring!
Aah! The rapes and crimes against women in our country… God know when will they end! Sick and fed up!

    1. It is truly tragic and sad that atrocities and crimes against women continue to rise unabated! It’s time the mindset of the society changes and women get their due respect and freedom.

  1. i did that once, and ended up reading so many of old posts!! I can totally relate to the memories it brought back, and added to that was the “did I write this?” smile too!
on my mind now is saturday and the submissions which are due on that day, and the fact that I haven’t even started on my assignments!!

    1. Isnt that such a nostalgic trip down the memory lane… to read about small bits of life and also to see the way our writings changed and how we have evolved on our blogs…
Good luck with your assignments, S 🙂 Do well!

  2. Even i love reliving my past through my posts. On my mind, right now so many things shilpa, one thought criss crossing another…plan for dinner, breakfast, the aphids on my bean plant, should i buy grocery or should i post pone and……. yes, I am sick about the rapes happening, i am thinking about the pollution levels and eco-friendly practices that we practiced some 25 years back…….so many thoughts that i am unable to even meditate now, so decided to get back to see the blogs:)

    1. Aah! We can have so many different thoughts racing around in our head… worrying, racing, anxiety ridden, happy, imaginative, flash-backs…

  3. I got tempted in doing so sometime back.
After reading a few of them, one thought occurred to me…..It was crazy.
Guess what I did?I selected the ones I thought were the best and compiled those into a book form…….COMPILATION OF MY BLOGS and distributed it amongst my friends and relations.
    Shilpa,wasn’t it the craziest idea?

    1. Oh, compiling all your blog posts in a book is a FABULOUS idea!! Glad that you did it! I think you self published it na, on pothi.com?

  4. Reading old posts is really fun! Shows how much we have changed over the years!
I hope your house-help returns real soon or you find a better one.
Well, mistreatment of women at the hands of men should be on everyone’s mind right now! It needs urgent attention!

    1. Oh, yes, old posts clearly tell us how we have evolved over a span of few years!
Aah, she is the same. Though she didnt take any leave during the weekend but she came soooo late that I ended up doing almost all the work! 🙄
Aah. Crimes against women… should STOP with immediate effect! I hope.. I wish…

  5. That first point – I need to do it sometime 😀
Oh dear…sigh with the house help problems…hope she comes and helps you out this weekend, when you have guests !
I wonder, how we have so many things going on in our mind – always !!

    1. You must read your old posts, Uma! You will love the experience, trust me!
The house help… aah, they make themselves scarce when we need them the most! She came in at 1 pm and by that time, I had done all the work. 🙄

  6. On my mind now is the recent fear I experienced a few days ago, a tough flew I got infected and I am still infected and re-definition of my novel’s main theme (as we discussed it with my translator).
AS a foreigner, I can only sympathize with Indian women’s need for security and respect. This year in July I was in India for Guru Poornima and was very scared to travel alone after dark even in the subway. In my country, I can walk when it’s dark as much as I want. I know change is far away, but the first step – speaking of the problem is made.
