A Rose Is A Rose Is A Rose!

Things are as they are, not as they should be!

All or Nothing Day

Did you know July 26th is All or Nothing Day?  I wasn’t aware of it till Heather Von St. James a  Mesothelioma cancer survivor, blogger, and mother, invited me join her and many others around the world in an All or Nothing Day (AOND) celebration.

Mesothelioma is a deadly cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. Long considered a miracle material, asbestos boasts excellent fire- and heat- resistant properties. This naturally-occurring mineral, is now known to be a human carcinogen (cancer-causing agent). To this day, asbestos has not been banned despite deaths and lawsuits.

Heather’s story of recovery is an inspiration, and I highly recommend you read more about her here. Heather is sharing her personal story of inspiration to help other mesothelioma victims around the globe and to help spread hope and awareness for others going through this, in hope that one day no one else will have to. Her story is one of faith, love and courage and living each day with a positive outlook despite the cards you have been dealt.

July 26th is All or Nothing Day, and Heather had to learn the hard way to live her life to the fullest. All or Nothing Day is about devoting time to live life meaningfully, to be bold, and to push yourself to do things that you’ve always wanted to do. So, here’s a reminder to live life, as you deserve to be fully alive. You have only one life to live, and you must live it now!!

Do stop  by Heather’s blog and read her inspiring story.

I am glad to be a part of this of this project to raise awareness as from awareness grows hope. Each voice could save a life!

  1. Heather’s story is truly inspiring, Shilpa. I featured her story back in July 2013 on my blog – via a guest post by Cameron, her husband. Just amazing. So lovely to see your post!

    1. Oh wow! That’s wonderful, Vidya! Will check out Cameron’s post on your blog. Heather is truly inspiring!

  2. I remember back in grade school people thinking it ‘irresponsible’ that the auditorium curtain did not have asbestos in it.

Then a few years ago, when I worked at the residential center for adults with MR/DD that is in the town where we used to live, the homes were sent into upheaval for weeks while they rushed to get the asbestos-containing materials OUT of the homes. I’d like to think it was because they were actually concerned for the residents and staff.

Anyway, thank you (and Heather) for helping to spread the news about mesothelioma
