Do you read your old posts? I do. It’s not a planned activity, but happens when I get a like or a comment on an old post or when I want to take a trip down the memory lane or when I just want to read my old posts. What would start as casually checking one or two posts, ends in going through almost all the posts in that category. Yesterday was one such day. I remembered writing about my typical day in 2009 which is the prompt for today’s Write Tribe –Festival of Words.
It was nostalgia galore, when I read about this post which reflected my life and times some 8 years ago. Without a second thought, I decided to rehash this old post and share the same in the present context. Interestingly, most things remain the same but some have given way to the new.
Here’s a peek into my day from A to Z…
In a day, I
- Accept the challenges that life throws my way.
- Accomplish miracles with a gentle word, a kind look, a good-natured smile or a hug
- Aggravate sometimes a simple issue
- Amuse myself by playing word games on my phone
- Bitch about anything that is not to my liking
- Calmly respond to the pesky telemarketing calls
- Cheerfully agree to disagree with KG
- Curiously observe the pigeons hitting their beaks on the glass pane ceaselessly
- Cynically appraise myself honestly and objectively
- Determine the plan of action for the day by listing it down
- Drink 2 cups of masala tea in a day
- Envy nobody
- Frustrate the house-help with endless instructions to do her job properly
- Giggle out loud at the silly WhatsApp forwards
- Gratefully thank God for all his blessings
- Hope for the best in everything
- Irritate myself and others with my obsession for cleanliness and hygiene
- Jealously guard my gadgets and books
- Kiss and make-up with an annoyed KG or AG
- Laze around too
- Love the feeling of being loved
- Madly in love with baking though becoming averse to regular cooking
- Neglect the backend work on my blog
- Optimistically look at things
- Peacefully sleep
- Quixotically refrain from following any healthy workout for long
- Reject whacky ideas that keep floating in my brain
- Rejuvenate myself with a 15 minute nap
- Relax by listening to Mirchi Love at 104 FM
- Rush to help
- Sadly remember some memories
- Shock KG by being away from my laptop for sometime
- Surprise the boys at home by suggesting, “Let’s not go to a South Indian food joint, this time!”
- Sympathetically listen to the woes of my house-help
- Thank God again
- Think, think, think…
- Touch base with family and friends
- Understand the importance of life
- Value my relationships
- Worry a lot
- Waste a lot of time online
- X-ray the new things a bit too deeply
- Yearn to be a kid again
- Zealously work on my projects and assignments
It’s all in a day’s work!

Liked this take on the prompt. Why didn’t I think of this earlier? I guess, I do all of these on any given day.

Hahaha 🙂 Thanks Anagha 🙂
I could relate to quite a few of your points, Shilpa. 🙂 Especially laughing at WhatsApp forwards. There are some really good ones at times. 😀 And it’s not something to be conscious about na.
Oh, yes, some of the messages are really hilarious and laughing out loud is the way to respond to them 😀
Wow! What a creative take on the prompt. Loved the way you said it all.
Thanks a lot, Payal, glad you enjoyed reading this post! 🙂
Very nice! I love how you spend your day.
Thank you, Apeksha 🙂
I see the pigeons are still persistent. I’m not sure how much of this is your actual day or aspirational, but I like the list!
I like to revisit old posts too. Sometimes it helps me regain perspective. Of course, your A-Z list will too. Nice!
Loved your A to Z post. Accepting the challenges coming your way and working to overcome them is what real life is all about. A fabulous list for all to read and reflect upon.
Now that’s such a creative way of writing about your day. I love how days of 2 different people can be so similar yet so different in so many ways.
