Grief engulfed her again, today. Another month became the bearer of the bad news. This was a ritual since the last 2 years. With each passing day, her yearning increased.
He had accepted the grim reality. But her longing for a child swallowed up the joy in their lives.
They decided to see the new specialist in town. The doctor ordered for all the tests to evaluate the case better and to cover all bases.
The report says, ‘Damage to the tubes due to infection or surgery’.
‘A botched up abortion?’ he asked.
The colour drained from her face.

That’s sad…how the past catches up to cloud our present.
Oh yes, it does, sooner or later!
That’s a brilliant piece of story…dark and has a secret too. Wonderful!
These kind of stories usually leave a chill down by spine…guess, I am too sensitive with the issues related to ‘child’ and the sorts 🙁
Thanks Kajal. True, it is tough to see the pain/trauma/misery when one years for a child and is unable to have one! 🙁
