So, you think you know it all.
Oh yes, you know all about the heart and the head but wish you’d know what’s in my heart that weighs so heavy on my mind.
You certainly believe that crying is therapeutic, but wish you’d know why the tears stood still in the eyes despite threatening to spill over.
I know, you know that laughter is the best medicine but wish you’d know that behind my laugh, I’m falling apart.
They say, knowing the truth, feeling the truth and acting on the truth are three very separate entities, wish you’d know that!

Destination Infinity

Thank you Nischala 🙂
Knowing the truth, feeling the truth and acting on the truth are three very separate entities. Amen to that!
Amen!
Wow, I am left speechless, wonderfully creative use of the prompt
Thanks a lot, Jairam 🙂
Truly, knowing the truth, feeling the truth and acting on the truth are three very separate entities.
Often, what we ‘see’ or ‘know’ as the truth is not the actual truth.
Oh yes, agree with that. Everything we see or understand is a perspective, and it may not be the truth!
Wow Shilpa this is brilliant.Very beautiful take on the prompt.
Thank you Ma’am 🙂
Good one. If some one thinks he knows it all that means he does not know a lot of things. There is a proverb in Tamil. “Katradhu Kaimman alavu. Kalladhathu ulagalavu”. (What we know/learnt is equal to the size of sand we can hold in our hand. What we don’t know/yet to learn is the size of this world.)
That’s such a profound saying and so very true too. Thanks for sharing it SG 🙂
“…but wish you’d know why the tears stood still in the eyes despite threatening to spill over…They say, knowing the truth, feeling the truth and acting on the truth are three very separate entities, wish you’d know that!”
Truly deep and rightly said!

Thanks Kalpana… glad you liked it 🙂
Yes often a smile or laughter hides the sadness inside. We don’t always really know do we? Very nice Shilpa. Quite a different take on the prompt.
Oh yes, we do that often and only very few can see that sadness behind that smile! Thanks Suzy. Glad you liked this story 🙂
Most of your 55ers and drabbles are over powering and thought provoking, shilpa. another good one from your stable. keep writing, am liking it.

At times what I think is the truth is not the truth and I try and hide behind held up tears
Yes, what we may see may be a perspective and not the truth!
Love the part about the three separate entities. Brilliantly done! ♥
Thank you so much, Kathy ♥
Prompt very powerfully put. Every thought so well-nuanced.
Glad you liked it, Jini. Thank you 🙂
The last line about truth being multiple entities is true gem Shilpa. The sad truth is for whatever reasons, more often than not people tend to mask their true feelings.
That’s sadly true… may be that’s because not many can understand your sadness or hiding behind a smile is so much easier than showing your sadness!
very poignant and touching
Thank you Ankita 🙂
Very true. Many times the masks we put on stays with us permanently, and I think it is good in a way, for we don’t want to spoil another person’s mood by spilling over them what we really feel at some moments. I maybe very troubled, but it can never stop me from being myself, that is always smiling, and mind you when I smile, I smile from my heart.
Agree with you about not spoiling somebody’s mood, but at times, you do want to share your sadness with somebody and hiding behind a smile… though we do it often is actually affects us in some or the other way!
SG that was well written. Quite power packed .
Thank you so much, Anil 🙂
Very profound words and this is most intensely thought-provoking: ‘They say, knowing the truth, feeling the truth and acting on the truth are three very separate entities, wish you’d know that!’
Thanks a lot, Swapna. Glad you liked this piece of writing! 🙂
