Wish You’d Know That
So, you think you know it all.
Oh yes, you know all about the heart and the head but wish youβd know whatβs in my heart that weighs so heavy on my mind.
You certainly believe that crying is therapeutic, but wish youβd know why the tears stood still in the eyes despite threatening to spill over.
I know, you know that laughter is the best medicine but wish youβd know that behind my laugh, I’m falling apart.
They say, knowing the truth, feeling the truth and acting on the truth are three very separate entities, wish you’d know that!

Truly, knowing the truth, feeling the truth and acting on the truth are three very separate entities.
Often, what we ‘see’ or ‘know’ as the truth is not the actual truth.
November 23, 2013 5:14 pm|
Oh yes, agree with that. Everything we see or understand is a perspective, and it may not be the truth!
November 20, 2013 8:04 am|

Good one. If some one thinks he knows it all that means he does not know a lot of things. There is a proverb in Tamil. βKatradhu Kaimman alavu. Kalladhathu ulagalavuβ. (What we know/learnt is equal to the size of sand we can hold in our hand. What we donβt know/yet to learn is the size of this world.)
November 23, 2013 5:16 pm|
That’s such a profound saying and so very true too. Thanks for sharing it SG π

The last line about truth being multiple entities is true gem Shilpa. The sad truth is for whatever reasons, more often than not people tend to mask their true feelings.
November 23, 2013 5:45 pm|
That’s sadly true… may be that’s because not many can understand your sadness or hiding behind a smile is so much easier than showing your sadness!
November 21, 2013 9:27 am|
very poignant and touching
November 23, 2013 5:45 pm|
Thank you Ankita π
November 21, 2013 3:22 pm|
Very true. Many times the masks we put on stays with us permanently, and I think it is good in a way, for we don’t want to spoil another person’s mood by spilling over them what we really feel at some moments. I maybe very troubled, but it can never stop me from being myself, that is always smiling, and mind you when I smile, I smile from my heart.
November 23, 2013 5:48 pm|
Agree with you about not spoiling somebody’s mood, but at times, you do want to share your sadness with somebody and hiding behind a smile… though we do it often is actually affects us in some or the other way!
November 21, 2013 10:05 pm|
SG that was well written. Quite power packed .
