26 Things About Me #Blogfest

After the April AtoZ Challenge, life has been super busy. I have been swamped with work, travel and lethargy. While, life went on, my little blog went into slumber. I just barely managed to do what was necessary. And the necessary included book reviews for which I must have received innumerable gentle reminders. After having finished the immediate deadlines, I breathed a sigh of relief. After racking the brain over book reviews, I needed a fun, light post for my blog. And Debbie’s blogfest was just what the docs ordered for me and my blog.

Debbie Doglady is hosting a Blogfest over on her blog. It’s a fun post on sharing twenty-six things about me from A to Z. Thank you Debbie, for this blog saviour post. So without much ado, I share 26 Things About Me…

A.  Age :  44+

B. Biggest fear : Death of loved ones.

C. Current time : 11.03 am

D. Drink you last had : Milk Shake

E. Every day starts with : A glass of water… the elixir of life

F. Favourite Song : Don’t have any favourites. But one that’s playing on the loop these days is ‘Bin Tere’ from I Hate Luv Storys.

G. Ghosts – Are they real? : Yes, they are!!

H. Hometown : The internet defines Hometown as the town of one’s birth or early life or present fixed residence. Kharar near Chandigarh is my town of my birth, Kota was where I spend first 25 years of my life and Jaipur is the current town where we are settled.

I. In love with : My boys, books, gadgets and life.

J. Jealous of : No one actually. And that’s because I believe that everyone has a different and unique question paper in this life. You can’t copy their answers, so I have to be happy with myself, my goals, my choices.

K. Killed someone : Yes, a lot of people in my head!

L. Last time you cried : While speaking to Aaryan on phone.

M. Middle Name : I don’t have one.

N. Number of siblings : Two uber cool and talented sisters.

O. One wish : Need 36 hours in a day!

P. Person you last called : My Dad. We have this daily ritual of calling each other every evening, exchanging the happenings of the day.

Q. Question you’re always asked : What keeps you busy the whole day? How can you read so many books? Why did you send your child to a boarding school?…

R. Reason to smile : Many. I smiled a while ago after chatting with KG. A friend called me to pass on some message to KG as his phone was not reachable. I texted THREE messages to KG…

  • Pls call A
  • Meeting with the official has been fixed.
  • A’s dad is better and has been discharged from the hospital.

KG replied back to say, “A’s phone is unreachable. Did he tell you the reason of his call?”

And I was smiling and laughing and banging my head against the wall. Gosh! The man has proved it yet again, that he just doesn’t listen and reads what I share!

S. Sounds that annoy you : Burps. I just can’t stand them!

T. Time you woke up : 6 am.

U. Underwear colour : LOL! I refuse to answer this!

W. Worst habit : Overthinking.

V. Vacation Destination : Any place where I can create lifelong memories, make life long friends, have fun and relax.

X. X-rays you last had : Lungs.

Y. Your Favourite Food : Masala Dosa.

Z. Zodiac Sign – The curious, energetic, optimistic, often tactless and the eternal wanderers of Zodiac – The Sagittarius.

    1. Thanks for dropping by, Susan.
I am unable to visit your blog. Like earlier times, I am getting the same Forbidden message “Forbidden You don’t have permission to access on this server.” 🙁

  1. You dislike the sound of burps? 😀 They are so funny! I always end up giggling when someone burps near me! And 6 am!? Man! That’s too early!
I am tagging myself with this! 😀

    1. God!! HATE the sounds of burps. Just cant stand it. 🙄
6 am is cool. A early start gives me a bit more time to handle the chores at hand and then lots of free time too. 😀 Enjoyed reading your take on this A to Z prompt 🙂

  2. Thanks for joining the blogfest, Shilpa. It was interesting to learn more about you. 🙂 Loved your answer to the “jealous” question! Similar to my philosophy. 😎

    1. Thanks for a wonderful blogfest, Debbie. My blog needed it 😀
I think not being jealous of others is good for our own mental well being 😉

  3. I guess I can agree with you on the overthinking point, and maybe also on the “Bin Tere” one. It’s just that whenever exam season rolls in, Hindi songs start creeping into my playlist. Just something totally weird, because I always prefer English to Hindi music all round the year! 😀

  4. Well, post reading the post, I kinda feel we’re on the same page a few times. Like killing people in our head. I’ve done that. A lot of times. I’m a serial killer to be serious 😉

    1. LOL @ serial killer… I can give you company in that too 🙂
      Thanks for dropping by, Milton!

  5. This was lovely—and funny—to read! I’m glad to hear I wasn’t the only one that dropped off the face of the blogging world after April… And yes, Debbie’s hop was a great way to ease myself back in, too.

    So glad you joined!

  6. Having read so much written by you- it was indeed interesting and fun to read about you.
36 hours a day ..thats too much to ask.
    But 1 thought that often crosses me in …what wud i do…if i hav a 25th hour…

  7. Hello Shilpa! Lovely to meet you and learn some things about you. This blog hop looks easy, but it makes you think, doesn’t it? So many people have killed people in their heads. Just as well we don’t carry out our imaginings on this one! I participated too. Hope you can hop over and say hello! 🙂

  8. No fair! We all had to ‘fess up our underwear color!

A lot of people answer K with killing people in their heads. The human race has very violent heads!

  9. Just getting around to reading peoples’ posts at the Linky. Fun to learn a bit more about you, Shilpa, and Yay, you are a Saggitarius like me. *Gives Shilpa a high five*

I liked your answer about where you’d like to go on a trip. Very thought provoking.

I must admit I’ve been dragging my feet with my blog lately, too. I went three months without blogging at all. I’m getting back into it as well as my fiction, too, and it feels really good. Hope you are doing more writing, too. So therapeutic and I love all my supportive writing friends around the world. Blog a Rhythm friends are especially kind ad supportive, like you! I remember how you helped me with all kind of technical glitches on my blog and I appreciated it. Still can’t figure out why my twitter button isn’t connected with Share this but oh well, what can you do? SIGH! Anyhow, enough yapping about that!

  10. I think a lot of writers would answer that they’ve killed people in their head. We must all have some serious dark sides to us. Great to meet you on this hop. Sorry I’m late, but I’ve got a book in the pipeline and I keep running out of steam and time.
