“I never thought it’d happen. We’d a good run for many years. I think my feelings have changed or maybe they’ve been re-arranged. You may call it the seven-year itch. But it’s goodbye,” she kept the HP books on the shelf and wondered when she’d find a new series to fall in love with again.

  1. I suppose we all get fed up of things every now and then….I’ve never read HP actually . Funnily enough fantasy doesn’t really appeal to me .

    1. Agree, we need new and different things to explore every now and then. I can understand that, there are many genres which are not my cup of tea!

    1. I know at one point of time HP movies were on all kiddie channels as well as English movie channels. They still are aired frequently and I have watched them many times with my son too!

  2. Very true! An emotion well described in short.
A lot of factors re arrange our feelings, but sometimes we fall in love again with the same thing in a different way!

    1. I love the perspective you have shared, Sheela. We grow and re-invent ourselves and re-look at things differently!

  3. I guess we all go through these phases like product life cycle.-Infancy, growth, maturity and then decline. But HP is one series that I can go to every now and then.

  4. Actually i have forgotten many of the characters and their names. My nieces beat me to it and have disqualified me from being a ‘potterite’. Need to revise again and attempt to get back into that hallowed league of ‘potterites’.
    Good take on the prompt.

  5. Sounds like the story of my exe when he dumped me a younger model.
However it was a blessing in disguise since 2007 when I was kicked to the curb because now I invest in me. Still Blessed.

  6. I’m not a big one for fantasy so never got around to reading HP, just watching the flicks. But I can still relate to this seeet story, as I have seen enough fans.
    Fabulous one, Shilpa.

  7. Hahaha!! yeah people move on grow up and you leave HP behind and go to other authors but I guess some things live on and some love never fades.

  8. Wow Shilpa. I have missed reading you. And I laughed at this because before a couple of days when I watched HP 7 – part 1, I was explaining to my 7 year old nephew why he must watch this. For a moment, I had that longing you mentioned.

  9. Thanks for always sharing your insights, being selfless, and spreading kindness. I personally can’t thank you enough for all of the amazing content you share. You change lives! WE APPRECIATE YOU. Stay safe!
