It’s show time.
Time to amaze the crowd.
In their excitement to shake hands with me, somebody pushed me and I fell down.
Despite the pain, I smiled and clowned around.
The show must go on, you see!
Just then a child asked if I was alright.
And tears came before I could stop them.

How sad:( No? hiding their feelings and pain to bring happiness in others lives. Unsung heroes!!!
A very good one, shilpa:)
Must be a tough thing to do na?! Thanks Asha π
I was always scared of clowns when I was small. I always thought there was a sadness behind their masks.
I have read so many stories which confirm what you said about the sadness behind their masks. It must be like nobody must be taking them seriously and must be expecting them to be fun and jolly all the time! π
I like the compassion content of this piece. Well written, Shilpa!
Thank you Beloo! Glad you liked this attempt!
Life of a clown is much more harder than we think, no? Well written shilpa π
It must be very tough indeed. To keep smiling and clowning around even when you dont feel like! Thanks Swathi. π
Clowns are evocative. They bring great joy as well as sadness. A great write, Shilpa.

The role of the clown is the most difficult. Some times he may be upset, but he has to perform the role of the clown, How sad!
True that! He has to put on a mask always!
Good one shilpa, thought provoking post !
