The concept of book spine poetry appeared in 1993 with Nina Katchadourianβs Sorted Books project. Katchadourian began collecting interesting titles and arranging them in clusters so the spines could be read like a sentence(s) or poem.
Dear John, Life is What You Make It. Only Time Will Tell, The Secretβ¦. The Darkest Evening of the Year.

Very interesting, Shilpa. One could actually use the spines of books to write verse and prose. Thanks for enlightening me with this kind of poetry.
Love.
Joy always,
Susan
Oh yeah!! When are you trying this spine poetry with your books?? Would love too see your books speak! :))
Hi , you must be spending quite a while arranging this to make sense.
LOL π I sit in front of my library cupboard and keep looking at my books and since it is just the beginning, it is easy to do! I dont know how it would be after a while when I would have used all the possible options! π
Very Nice π
Thanks Priyaa π
I noticed that spine poetry is open to multiple interpretations. That makes it even more interesting π

Thank you Mr J π
This is just getting better. As I commented on your last post on spine poetry, this is a great concept. π

I cried when I read Dear John..donno why..felt very sad π
I know what you mean, Latha! A “Dear John letter” is a letter written to a husband or boyfriend to inform him that their relationship is over, usually because the author has found another lover. But this book Dear John from Nicholas Sparks is a romantic drama about a soldier who falls for a conservative college student while he’s home on leave.
I didn’t feel sad for the boy..my sadness is for his dad who suffers from Asperger syndrome..
Awesome collection! π
Thank you Indrani π
Loved this one too … yet to make one myself though …
Thanks Divya!! Come on, go for it… it is damn interesting! π
