Clink! Aha! It was time for me to join him. I rush and wait outside his shop. I see him arranging the steel containers on a make-shift table.
I hear him mumble a small prayer. Why he gulps his food greedily, I always wonder. He slurps and burps his way through the meal. Finally, glug-glug and he washes down his sumptuous meal with buttermilk.
At last, he casts a glance my way. He knows I am waiting.
He throws a bread in my direction, I lap it up and make a soft growling sound and leave with a wagging tail.

Awww you perfectly described what it sounds like at my house around the dinner table with my four dogs watching us eat and hoping/begging for the odd scrap of food. Brilliant!! Love the picture of the lovely dog. β₯
Aww. Thanks a lot Kathy. Glad that you relate to this scenario. π
Liked the hoping/begging part π … do you give in and give them something to eat like that? or are you strict about serving them their food in their bowls at a given time only?
