Your behaviour has devastated me.
I thought the world of you. And you treated me like dirt for no reason.
Was it appropriate to ridicule me in front of so many people?
You said it embarrassed you, when the whole class erupted into noisy laughter.
What did I say or do that was out of the ordinary?
Isn’t it a shame when the things that are on your mind and in your heart are not shared with the one you love?
I was just doing what the fortune cookie said. Who am I to stand in the way of fate?

Sounds like one of those ‘danged if you do, danged if you don’t’ situations. Well written and concise!
Good for her! Saying what is in your heart is a good thing, for one party, at least 🙂
This is why I guess people need to decide what is worth holding back and what is not. Good one Shilpa. Loving your drabbles.
Following the advice of fortune cookies can be risky!
This reminds me of the time I used to crack a virtual fortune cookie open everyday on Facebook! At times we like to follow some guided direction…guess that’s what makes us feel like taking the message in the fortune cookie seriously.
Is this a dialogue or a monologue Shilpa ? Based on that we can interpret it in different ways 🙂
Hi Jayashree! I wrote it as a monologue! 🙂
One needs to decide what needs to be told and what not..
sometimes, unfortunately the audience isn’t right.
nicely expressed in just 100 words Shilpa.. I love your drabbles!! 🙂
sometimes, it is better to hold back than speak your heart and sometimes it is better to speak your heart than hold back. Depends on situations. what say, shilpa?
Yeah…guess so too….who am I?
But of course, one can always filter some and keep some to themselves…lovely!
Sometimes it’s just best to bite your tongue. Choose words wisely.
This monologue is very interesting, but it can prove to be dangerous some time.
Expressing yourself can be risky. 😉 You never know what the reaction will be, but it’s definitely something we should all do.
Aww! What a shame! “The whole class”? So, some kiddie romance, eh?! 😉
Interesting monologue Shilpa, it might be a school kid who thought the world of his/her teacher and was rebuked for expressing it out loud.
sweet monologue, embarrassing though….better not break the cookie. 😉
I think,it is important to be sure of what one wants keep away or otherwise .there are situations, when one would purposely not divulge
