You must learn to let go.

You must realize that some people are a part of your history, but not a part of your destiny.

You can’t move forward if they continue to pull you down.

It is perfectly ok to burn a few bridges… That would keep the freaky lunatics from coming after you!

  1. Back in the early, EARLY days of the internet – you know, when a 286 was lightning fast and there was only green letters on a black screen – I stopped getting online for a while because I thought EVERYONE there was crazy and/or psychotic! *lol*

  2. Shilpa, you are a master of 55ers. Todays post is the ‘bestest’, leaving others much behind. ‘ some people are part of your history but not part of your destiny’. How true!

    1. Agree completely! Letting go is not so easy! But then nothing comes easy, in life. But then you have to let go of things that pull you down, and that’s for your own good!

  3. Very true. In this age of 24/7 connectivity with virtual technology it’s important to know when to shut off people who try to pull you down.

    1. Oh, we know them in our heart, always! It’s how and when to take that step to burn the bridge that we dont know πŸ™‚

      1. Wonderful blog you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any community forums that cover the same topics talked about in this article? I’d really like to be a part of group where I can get responses from other experienced people that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

  4. Ah… Too true. It takes some of us longer to figure out that some people are best lost than found. And the bit about burning bridges so lunatics can’t come after you made me giggle — I pictured a raving horde right out of The Walking Dead πŸ˜€

Thanks for the visit over at Quiet Laughter — so glad you’re enjoying the posts πŸ˜‰

    1. I wonder why it takes long for us to pull that chord!! I am seeing The Walking Dead in my head now too πŸ˜€

  5. It is perfectly ok to burn a few bridges… That would keep the freaky lunatics from coming after you! – I second that. πŸ˜› Sometimes that is required to maintain our sanity. πŸ˜€

    1. True that! It’s for our own good that we need to weed out such people from our life πŸ™‚

  6. So true, Shilpa. Sometimes it’s best to leave some people in the past. They’re like unwanted baggage, constantly slowing us down, making us drag.

    1. Well said, Kadambari! We usually think that holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it’s letting go. It is important to not dwell on what went wrong. Instead, focus on what to do next and move on!

  7. Cute post Shilpa! πŸ™‚ I can’t help but smile at the way you wrote it: well said! I have nothing more to add other than I love the use of your words and phrases. πŸ™‚ <3

    1. It is certainly not easy! But the truth is, holding onto past pain and resentment will only hold us back… so let go!
