You know that my heart has been ripped into a thousand pieces and it still goes on beating.
You know that my heart is hurting and am still not dying from it!
What you don’t know is that despite all, in spite of all… my heart is hoping that it’s you and me together again!

Beautifully done. A few lines that show up a vista.
Thanks, Sunila!
Hope is powerful. One of the biggest reasons to keep you going.
It’s very skilful to conclude a story in 55 words. I have written some but I find it a little difficult. 🙂
Yes, Hope keeps telling, Hold On, Pain Ends…
Thanks a lot for your kind words. It’s addictive once you start writing. Actually, I like the thrill of chopping/adding words to get that perfect 55.
Ah the tragic case of wanting someone even when they treat you badly. Seen too many of these people in reality.
Well done with the prompt, Shilpa!
Yeah, the heart wants what it wants! Thanks Shailaja!
Beautifully expressed, Shilpa !!! We two are sailing on the same boat ….
Sailing in the same boat… err… which one??
Hoping against hope. Sigh!
And that hope never dies. Sigh!
Ah hope – it never does die out completely.
True, hope never tries. It keeps whispering, try it one more time…
So sad. The tragic heartbreak and wanting to get back together!
Sad indeed. Love is a strange thing. The heart wants what it wants.
Sometimes we know, but our heart refuses to .
Nice take on the prompt.
True that. The heart knows the truth, always. Thanks Mayuri.
Ahh, unrequited love is the saddest of all! Beautifully done Shilpa!
True, because what’s worse than knowing you want something, but also knowing you can never have it. Thanks Kala!
Shilpa, you are a romantic 🙂 Unrequited love hurts like crazy.
Yes, unrequited love is the infinite curse of a lonely heart!
Wanting someone badly even when they treat you bad.. Loved it!
Glad you liked this 55er, Shalini.
That was short and (bitter) sweet. Excellent indeed.
Thanks Neha.
Sad but sweet. You are a hopeful romantic.
Glad you liked this attempt, Suzy!
ahh that feeling … the hope that keeps latching on inspite of everything. Bittersweet!!
Yeah, the hope never dies!
And that is where the tragedy lies! Heart keeps wanting that same person who keeps hurting us!
Hmmm… Strange are the ways of the heart!
The agony and tussle are so beautifully brought out in such few lines! the matters of the heart are complicated indeed.
Thanks Shubhangi. Glad you liked this 55 word story!
As Pope said, Hope springs eternal in the human breast….
True that!!
Cute and equally intense. A crisp take on the prompt.
Thank you, Nisha!
So many hearts know this pain… and this hope against the odds.
Hoping despite the odds… that’s because hope is that little voice that keeps whispering, ‘May be…”
Beautiful.
Thanks SG.
Hoping against hope!
A familiar scene for a lot of us 🙂
[In the past for me 😉 ]
True… coz all you have is hope…
That is so sad, but so beautifully written. So many emotions in so few words.
Thanks Reema.
Romantic in such few words! How do you do it?!
Practice… 😀
That desperate romantic in me loves this! 🙂
Glad you loved this one, Jayanthy!
Ah! Hope she finds a better love, a more worthy love!
Hope so!
you are an epic poet all along. Hopeless romantic as well? Beautifully done. Hope keeps the world alive!!!
Thanks Sid. No, that’s not my story!
Good to see you here, after a long time! How have you been?
I am good, started Blogging again, hoping to be more frequent
They should create a word in the Oxford Dictionary which sums up this entire feeling. It’s become like the next type of love story, instead of the good old ‘happily ever after’ of the older days!
Now, that’s an idea. The thing is that such love stories could have more different versions than the good old happily ever after!
So crisp and so full of emotions….lovely Shilpa!
Thank you, Asha!
Touched my heart ! Here’s hoping for the best always. 🙂
Always… Thanks EM.
So many emotions conveyed in so few words. 🙂
Thanks Shantala.
