It was a mess. Their reality was a far cry from the fairy tale they wanted it to be.

Life dissolved into a dull and lifeless routine.

Resentment brewed and disappointment overflowed.

The inner sparkle lost its sheen and the joy of sharing the life faded.

Their connection withered.

And then they disconnected…

…to reconnect!

  1. Disconnecting to connect is good, it is like going far to come closer 🙂 These past few days have been a lot of fun, reading posts about marriage and how to keep it going strong and happy. Enjoyed reading this one too.

  2. So true. Even simple things like trying a new restaurant every few weekends is a great thing to do for a couple. You never ever want to get into routine.. really.
    Lovely post 🙂

  3. They disconnected to re-connect..its important in life and to make the relationship work beautifully:) Such a youthful zest that knows no boundary and flows beautifully in your writing:)

  4. Yes, keeping that youthful zest is so important…not just for a happy marriage but for happiness itself. Even small things can help big time in keeping things fresh and lively.

  5. I totally believe this and also in keeping one’s space too balanced with companionship to keep things fresh and the heart youthful 🙂

  6. The old ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder’ maxim. Each person in a relationship has hobbies and interests that the other may or may not share. It is ok to support or participate in the other’s interest, and it is ok to do them each alone. My husband and I have different interests (things that make us light up inside), and feeding our souls individually makes us stronger together.

  7. Shilpa thats an awesome pick! The question in last is something we should keep on asking ourselves, to keep the youthful zest alive! Too good! I am feeling young again! 🙂

  8. No,it isnt really important to et a break.
    We are all humans.
A stage comes in life when all one realses the connect of happy married life…..everyone in your life moves on leaving you behind.
