‘I don’t want to argue now’, she said and left the room in a huff.

‘Give me your timetable, so that I can schedule it as per your convenience’, he shouted sarcastically.

She immersed herself in the chores and sighed deeply.

In the other room, his anger started brewing again, over her disdain and disregard.

You can measure the happiness of a marriage by the number of scars that each partner carries on their tongues, earned from years of biting back angry words. Elizabeth Gilbert.

  1. Superb theme…I like the bitter sweet argument too 🙂

And great thinking highlighting bloggers with the names beginning with alphabet of the day (thumbs up!)

  2. Oh God you know when I argue my husband just keeps quite and that makes me sooo mad!! but yes once words are out there we can never take them back!

  3. Hey Shilpa, Thanks for linking me up 😉 was so happy to see my name first 😀
Arguments in Marriage. Ufff let me not write my views on this.

  4. I am learning to bite my tongue more and use my tongue less against my husband when I’m angry. What a great start to the challenge!

  5. What a start Shilpa! Something we’ve all been through. What’s a marriage without arguments.. of course sometimes they can go really bad. I love your theme already.

  6. Learning how to argue fairly is a very important part of a successful marriage, in my opinion.

You know you could turn this into a booklet, don’t you? 🙂

    Here’s to a smashing A to Z, Shilpa! 🙂

  7. I love that you went with ‘Arguments’. No marriage exists without them and if they do, then it isn’t a marriage 😉

    Wonderful start, Shilpa!

  8. aah ! arguments, well, what can we say…..no marriage is complete without arguments, and healthy ones are like salt in the food of life 😀
I’m up with my two posts 🙂

  9. But without any arguments will there be the much-needed spice in a marriage? 😉 Not an easy thing to balance though….a very good start to demystifying this “institution” 🙂

  10. A great one given you theme. As some however said above, can there truly be a marriage without? I love sharing some of my own experience. For 6 or even more months before l left my marriage, we didn’t argue any more, we didn’t event talk. So lack of arguement could also be indicative don’t you think?

  11. Wonderful idea, wonderfully presented. Your ideas are brilliant. Oh yes, arguments in a marriage help to keep the marriage INTACT. Congrats for the great start!

  12. Interesting theme for the month. I am one of those who goes into the other room to mutter to myself for a while before coming back to sort things out.

  13. Lovely way to encapsulate something that occurs in most relationships…avoidance is unfortunately the way most of my partners and I have dealt with things. Not helpful I know!

  14. Love your theme and the quote. Scars are medals of honor on the tongue, right? Lovely start to a fine challenge.

  15. Sadly there are arguments in every marriage..ups and downs. It is how we come away from those arguments and make up that makes the marriage even stronger. A lovely start to the A-Z! ♥

  16. So, here is the first of the 26… loved it and I am sure will love the others too… like I already said, this is the best theme I came across..

felt good seeing my name up there…. thank you my dear friend 🙂

  17. “A” is the begining of this challenge.
“Argument” is the begining of the love in a marriage….so long as the Husband accepts her argument for whatever be the reason of argument.
